Right to Information (RTI) act of the parliament of India was enacted on 15th June 2005 and it came into force on 12th October 2005. Under the provision of this act, any citizen of India has the right to seek any information from a government organization (Central and State govt.) which is required to reply within 30days. Private bodies do not fall within the range of this act directly. A citizen who requires to seek any information from a public domain has to send an application along with their postal order or DD etc payable to the account officer of the public authority as a fee for seeking information.
